Scrapbook
Following is a collection of photos of some of my scratchbuilt vehicles and terrain.

“15 [mm] Men on a Dead Man’s Chest”
The Bonny Paige was my first attempt at a Gary Chalk pirate ship, the plans for which are now available for free on the Foundry website; I bought mine from Gary’s late, lamented Little Grenadier webstore.
I bought a whole mess of Old Glory 28mm pirates as crew. When I got the ship built, I decided that they just looked too large, even taking into account Gary’s assertion that the ship is a terrain piece rather than a scale model. Thus, I put in a second order for 15mm pirates from Peter Pig and the Bonny Paige had a crew.

Fighting on the Foredeck
A number of Peter Pig pirates battling it out on the foredeck. Most of them seem to be gun crew who are all dressed up without a gun to shoot.

Chaos on the Quarterdeck
As you can see, the switch to 15mm allows for a larger crew to battle it out. Of course, one has to be careful with one’s fingers when maneuvering the little swabs to avoid scattering them everywhere.

Yo Ho!

My Own Private Zinderneuf
This is a foamcore French Legion fort based on plans from “Mister Palmtree” on the Colonial Battles Yahoo group (they’re in the Files section under Colonial Architect). I scaled it down to 15mm. I hadn’t yet seen Beau Gest when I built it, so there are a few modification I will make if or when I build another. For example, the corner bastions should be higher than the walls and the walkway should angle up to meet the higher level. I plan to make a little ladder for the tower.

A Little Junk
This is another model from the Mister Palmtree collection (Colonial Battles Yahoo Group->Files->Colonial Boatworks), scaled down to 15mm. I made it to add variety to my Bog-A-Ten boats to give it an international “Those Daring Young Men in Their Jaunty Jalopies” feel. I’ll add images of the stalwart British steam launch and the Prussian sub. The crew are Old Glory 15mm Boxers.

Under Attack
Chinese pirates fall under attack from the dreaded Bog-A-Ten! The water is Clearphane cellophane giftwrap, per the Major General. The photo is too dark, but note the ripples and the reflection on the side of the junk.

Give Us a Wave
Here’s Bog-A-Ten himself waving for the camera. The arms are made of Sculpey with a florist wire armature glued to a fender washer. I made the suckers by pressing the wet sculpey with a bit of brass pipe. I think real suckers come in groups of two, but this is good enough for government work.
